We’re big advocates of dental insurance. Your policy is an invaluable resource that can help you get the preventive care you need with little to no out of pocket cost. It’s also there to assist you if you ever need more extensive dental work. We never want our patients to fret about how they’re going to pay for their treatment, which is why we’re proud to be your Cigna dentist in Topeka and Silver Lake. We’ll help you maximize your coverage so you can enjoy a healthy smile at a great value.
Cigna offers both group dental coverage (which you may have through your employer) and individual and family plans. Many of the individual and family plans are DPPO policies, which are sometimes referred to simply as PPO policies. They allow you to visit any licensed dentist and receive significant savings on dental care. Your coverage might work something like this:
Keep in mind that your policy might not cover all of the above services. Cigna has a Preventive plan that only covers basic oral health maintenance. If your plan does cover more advanced services, it is likely to have a waiting period of 6 – 12 months before you can undergo treatments like fillings, crowns, or other restorative procedures.
DPPO plan frequently come with an annual maximum, which is the most that Cigna will pay out for approved services within a calendar year. Typically, this limit is between $1,000 and $1,500. Our team will be happy to help you get the most out of your maximum. For example, we may be able to break up major procedures between calendar years so you can use two annual maximums rather than one.
Although your Cigna DPPO policy allows you to visit any dentist, you can reap special benefits when you visit an in-network provider. We’ve already agreed to Cigna’s rates, so you can be confident that your out of pocket costs will be as low as possible. And since we’re used to working with Cigna, we can offer personalized suggestions to help you get the greatest value from your policy.
